RESEARCH:
Before we began designing the website,we first had to conduct research into existing websites in order to gain a better understanding of what features a campaign website should include. We also included different websites for our research to determine how website design is used to attract its target audience. This research was useful as it gave us a clearer idea of what campaign websites actually look like and what features they include to make it look more professional and realistic, and also how the image and language used plays a part in the overall outlook of the website. This website’s main target audience is both men and women, usually at the age of 30 or more since they make up the group of people which are the most prone to Cardiovascular Disease. This age group is extremely susceptible to CVD because effects of a non-healthy lifestyle, very little or no exercise and smoking are more likely to be carried out. However, older adults are also among our target market since the prevalence of risks and chronic diseases is higher in most cases for older adults.Nowadays, teenagers excessively use the Internet and are more likely to come across such articles as our awareness campaigns. Such campaigns will hold interest for them and they are likely to inform their parents about this because their parents are more prone to be, God forbid, affected by this disease. Also teenagers smoke a lot and smoking is one of the leading causes of Cardiovascular Disease. In such situations, awareness about CVD is vital. Therefore, teenagers and children are also among out targeted audience. Physicians, nurses, technologists, hospitals for primary care, clinicians, cardiologists, and other specialists who care for people at risk for cardiovascular disease are all included in our target market since this awareness website could be beneficial for the medical unit as well for enhancing patient care.
